On July 4th 2016, the Church of Scientology hosted over 200 guests from the local community to celebrate our Nation’s Independence Day in the Historic Fort Harrison’s tenth floor Crystal Ballroom.

The event followed the tradition of celebration as stated by one of our Founding Fathers, John Adams:

“I am apt to believe that [this day] will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be [celebrated] with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.”

In alignment with that message of freedom and celebration, guests from across the local community attended an evening of festivities.

Lisa Mansell, the Public Affairs Director for the Church of Scientology in Clearwater, opened the event by paying tribute to the members of our Country of all races, faiths, ages and backgrounds that are looking with hope to build a better world.

The celebration that followed included incredible musical entertainment and a special performance by the East Coast Golden Age Theatre of an L. Ron Hubbard fiction story called The Toughest Ranger. Guest then viewed the fireworks from the 10th floor terrace of the Fort Harrison.

The guests enjoyed the evening and were interested in learning more about other events that are being held in the Fort Harrison.

“This event represents our history and it is my pleasure being able to celebrate it with you all,” said Robert, one of the guests, “I’ll be here every year!”
